STREATOR – Two people were arrested after a Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team Investigation. According to Tri-DENT, on Thursday morning, Tri-DENT made a warrant arrest for 24-year-old Calvin L. Merritte and 30-year-old Shamara C. Bright both from Chicago, while at the LaSalle County Courthouse in Ottawa. Merritte and Bright were both charged with class one felonies after an investigation into cocaine sales in the Streator area. Authorities say Merritte and Bright allegedly delivered over 1 gram of purported crack cocaine to Tri-DENT. Merritte and Bright were taken to the LaSalle County Jail with bond set and $ 1 million dollars each.
