Paw Paw School Board Meets; Explores Deactivation Options

PAW PAW – In a special school board meeting Thursday night, the deactivation of Paw Paw High School and possible merger with Indian Creek was discussed, with the potential of other options being explored as alternatives. The original proposal, which was laid out last month with Indian Creek High School, has had some conflicts, especially where the two sides had to agree on funding per student. Paw Paw School Board members expressed how they felt that Indian Creek was not going to change their offer, and that other options, including leaving the high school open or consolidating with Mendota, Earlville or Leland, would be available. In order for any deactivation to occur, a referendum would have to appear and pass on a district wide ballot in an election.
