OGLESBY- A person was rescued after a search Saturday evening along the Vermilion River near Oglesby. Around 9:20 PM rescue crews were called to the boat landing along Ed Hand Highway where a search was started for someone reportedly missing upstream. Multiple agencies were called to the scene from MABAS division 25, including Utica, Streator and Mendota. Around 11 PM rescue personnel made contact with the missing subject on shore near the narrows on the Vermilion River and transported them to the Oglesby Boat Launch. There was no updated word on the subjects condition and further details are expected to be released on Sunday.
