PERU – A Peru man is facing charges after an investigation into a break-in on Peru’s southwest side. The Peru Police Department says that 25-year-old James Newell was arrested and charged with residential burglary and theft. He was taken into custody on Sunday and transported to the LaSalle County Jail where he is being held on a $750,000 bond.
