Peru moves forward with new police building plans

PERU – Peru City Council voted to move forward with seeking bids for the new police building at Monday night’s meeting. The council approved a guaranteed maximum price of $16 million for the station that should be just shy of 32,000 square feet. Police Chief Doug Bernabei explained that this is a legacy project and the building will be in use for generations of officers. He also said he’d never seen a group of officers so excited in his 29 years as chief.
