OTTAWA – Local pro choice activists are protesting in downtown Ottawa, in response to state legislations that prohibits abortions after detectable heartbeats. The “Stand with Planned Parenthood” group rallied around Washington Square Park Wednesday evening, and will continue their efforts Thursday evening until 7:30 p.m. The Missouri and Georgia House passed bills to ban abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected. The Alabama House passed a bill requiring doctors to try and save the life of an unborn baby after an attempted abortion, or they could face up to 20 years in prison.
