STREATOR – Plans for a ticketed concert at the Plumb Pavilion bites the dust. Toni Pettit and Cinda Bond, organizers of Jammin’ at the Clock, asked for the city’s approval to have a Queen cover band play at the Plumb Pavilion in City Park. Because the public would have to purchase tickets, and the possibility of beverage sales, council members were against moving forward with plans. Mayor Jimmie Lansford says the city would like to honor the wishes of those who donated to the pavilion and have the venue remain dedicated for free public use only.
