Severe weather has hampered blood donation efforts

CHICAGO – The record breaking cold and severe weather across much of the United States has reduced the blood supply across the nation according to the Red Cross. Currently, the Red Cross is also testing blood, platelet and plasma donations for COVID-19 antibodies as well. Upcoming blood donation opportunities in the area between March 3rd – March 15th include Ottawa, Grand Ridge, Mendota and Malden.
3/3/2021: 12 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., Illinois Valley Chapter Donation Center, 1530 4th Street Peru
3/4/2021: 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., First Baptist Church, 1401 State Street Ottawa
3/4/2021: 1 p.m. – 6 p.m., Streator Incubator, 401 W. Bridge St. Streator
3/6/2021: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Farm Ridge Township Building, 228 W. Penn Grand Ridge
3/9/2021: 10:45 a.m. – 5 p.m., Moose Lodge, 211 E 12th Street Mendota
3/12/2021: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m., Malden Grade School, East Street Malden
