Special 50th anniversary perks at 2019 Burgoo Festival

UTICA – The 2019 LaSalle County Burgoo Festival celebrates their 50th anniversary this weekend. The fall festival is one of Illinois’ largest and longest running, since 1969. This year, the Utica Village street party will feature some special events in honor of their 50th. Events Coordinator Amanda Carter says a 1969 Retro Ale will be served all day Saturday by Cops 4 Cancer and from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. you can witness historical figures like Abraham Lincoln or Wild Bill Hickok stir the old Burgoo kettles. It all starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday and ends at 6 p.m. on Sunday. All proceeds go to support the LaSalle County Historical Museum and other society projects.
