LASALLE – The Illinois State Police will be adding extra DUI patrols looking for impaired drivers in LaSalle County next month. ISP District 17 Commander Captain Jason LoCoco announced on Thursday the patrols will start in June. The Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement patrols will allow troopers to focus on preventing, detecting, and taking enforcement action in response to violations associated with impaired driving and illegal transportation or consumption of alcohol or drugs. Authorities say 30 percent of all fatal motor vehicle crashes in Illinois are alcohol related.
