Streator city council approves facade grants for South Park Street

STREATOR – Two facade grants referred to Streator’s city council by the Plan Commission were approved on Wednesday. Last week, the Plan Commission turned over two grant requests for 125 and 127 South Park streets to council after learning that the money allocated was used up for this year. City Manager David Plyman says the grants are handled by a first come first serve basis. He says two other facade projects aren’t scheduled to begin until next year and if construction of 125 and 127 South Park Streets happens this year, the owner can use the funding.
