Subjects Identified in Armed Robbery, Gun Recovered

PERU – A man from Tennessee and three others from Indiana have been identified as the suspects in the armed robbery of the Peru Walgreens Tuesday morning. According to the Peru Police Department, 21-year-old Donte J. Blow of Madison Tennessee was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery. A man from Indianapolis, 22-year-old Anthony D. Riggs is also charged with Armed Robbery. Both were taken to the LaSalle County Jail. Two other individuals, a 15-year-old from Indianapolis and a 17-year-old from Lawrence, Indiana, were taken to the LaSalle County Detention Home and are also facing charges of Armed Robbery.
A search on Tuesday along Rt 251 and I-39 by a number of agencies recovered clothing suspected to have been worn during the robbery and a 40-caliber handgun. The handgun, allegedly used in the early Tuesday morning robbery of the Walgreens on Shooting Park Road in Peru, was reported stolen in 2014 by the Indianapolis Police Department.   The four were taken into custody after a high speed pursuit that ended near Wenona after stop sticks were deployed by a LaSalle County Sheriff’s Deputy.
All of the suspects will be making initial court appearances on Wednesday.
