Three Chicagoans charged with forgery in Henry County

GENESEO – Three people from Chicago were taken into custody after being charged with forgery, according to Princeton Police. Authorities say that on Wednesday, Princeton Police assisted Geneseo Police in reference to a forgery investigation after reports of subjects allegedly passing counterfeit currency in Geneseo. Subsequent to the investigation, police say, 22-year-old Lee O. Cole, , 23-year-old Ashanti L. Jones, and 21-year-old Kamaya A. Jones, all from Chicago, were charged with the offense of Forgery a Class 3 Felony, and taken to the Henry County Jail where they are being held in lieu of a $75,000 bond. Also assisting in the investigation were the Peru Police Department, the Kewanee Police Department, and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities say the case remains under investigation.
