OTTAWA – Two people were taken into custody after Ottawa Police and the department’s K9, seized over 40 bags of suspected heroin during a traffic stop, Thursday. 67-year-old Kendrix C. Williams and 34-year-old Cassandra M. Clark both of Ottawa were charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to deliver after the alleged discovery of 42 jewelers bags of suspected heroin. According to the Ottawa Police Department, they received an annoymous tip of purported heroin allegedly being brought from Joliet to Ottawa. Police say as a result they located a suspected vehicle and proceeded to make a traffic stop for reported violations. That’s when police say the departments K9, “Gussy” preformed a free air sniff of the vehicle and allegedly alerted to the presence of narcotics. Authorities say both suspects are being held at the LaSalle County Jail on a million dollars bond.
