Two new Mendota full-time police officers sworn in

MENDOTA – Two new members of the Mendota Police Department were sworn in Monday night.

Ofc. Brian Ehlart and Ofc. Austin O’Sadnick took the oath from Police and Fire Chairman Dave McNally in a packed council chambers full of family and friends.

Ehlart is a 1990 West Aurora High School graduate who served in the U.S. Army and was formerly with the Bureau County Sheriff’s Office in 2010.   Most recently, the 50-year-old was with the Blanchester, Ohio Police Department.  He began part time with the Mendota Police Department earlier this year.

O’Sadnick, 27, is a 2013 Mendota High School graduate and IVCC graduate.   On March 27th he’ll be attending the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy in Glen Ellyn.
