Unemployment down in area counties


 
UNDATED – Local county unemployment rates decreased in the month of February according to the Illinois Department of Employment Security. Bureau County currently holds the lowest unemployment rate at 5.4%, down from nearly 6% at the start of the year. Putnam County is seeing a slight decrease as well now at 5.9% compared to 6.3% in January. LaSalle County has the highest unemployment rate at 6.1%. Statewide unemployment made a slight dip as well in February, to 4.8%.
