COMPTON – Congressman Adam Kinzinger appeared in Compton today to announce a USDA Rural Development investment. The village will receive a loan of $680,000 and a grant of $956,000, which will go towards constructing a new water tower, rehabilitating the well building, and replacing the water main lines. Compton officials say the update to the village’s water system will help to alleviate health and sanitary issues, as well as provide safe, drinkable water to around 136 individuals within the village. Kinzinger says hes proud to be a force multiplier in projects with local governments, especially considering the many challenges rural communities have in making sure they’re up to date on basic necessities like water.
