Utica seeks grant to fund more walkway downtown

 
UTICA – The Village of Utica is planning to add more walkway downtown and make other upgrades through the Illinois Department of Transportation’s ITEP Grant. Trustees authorized the commitment of 20% of funds for the up to $3 million dollar grant. If awarded, the village plans to extend sidewalks on the west side of Illinois 178 from the I & Canal to the Illinois River bridge. The grant would also include funds for lighting and trees.
