LASALLE – The administration of COVID-19 vaccines has begun at the LaSalle Veterans’ Home. On Monday nearly 2000 doses of the Moderna vaccine arrived at the LaSalle County Health Department. All area hospitals are coordinating with the health department to try to get as many staff members vaccinated, plus they have taken the additional step to begin giving the vaccine to residents and staff at the LaSalle Veterans’ Home. Later this week other nursing homes and long-term care facilities will also begin receiving their doses for residents and staff. The department is asking the public to be patient as they are still preparing for what they say will be the biggest public health response in modern history.
