MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — It was a task almost as tough as finding a needle in a haystack. But a group of hikers is getting credit for recovering a wedding band in a snow-covered stretch of a New Hampshire mountain trail. WMUR-TV in Manchester reports Bill Giguere of Massachusetts recently lost his gold ring along a 10-mile loop of a trail on Mount Hancock. He alerted a hiking group for help — and two climbers took up the hunt, using a metal detector. The searchers found the ring buried in snow at a lookout where Giguere said he had stopped to change gloves.
