Widespread flu activity in 45 states, including Illinois

OTTAWA – Widespread flu activity has taken over 45 states including Illinois, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In Illinois, the department of public health reported over 30 ICU admissions for the last week of January and two pediatric deaths for the season total. Currently, the LaSalle County Health Department has reported 4 ICU admissions zero pediatric deaths. Last year, LaSalle County reported 30 ICU admissions. Anyone still in need of a flu shot, is encouraged to call the LaSalle County Health Department.
