WOMAN ON TRIAL CHARGED WITH STEALING EVIDENCE — HER OWN GUN

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) — An Alaska woman on trial for waving a gun around inside a bar has been charged with stealing the same gun from an evidence box near the judge’s bench.

Alaska State Troopers say 29-year-old Tiffany Flenaugh carried the .45-caliber pistol out of the courthouse during a break in the trial Tuesday and hid it in snow.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports police arrested Flenaugh as she re-entered the courthouse.

Flenaugh was on trial for assault and weapons misconduct.

Prosecutors say Flenaugh was intoxicated back in October 2018 and was refused service at a bar. Police say she then pulled out the loaded handgun.

She faces new charges of theft, possessing a firearm in a courthouse and evidence tampering.
