SPRINGFIELD – 168 new cases of COVID-19 in Illinois were announced Saturday. Governor J.B. Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Public health announced an additional death, a Cook County man in his 70s. This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 753 and six fatalities. Governor J.B. Pritzker says the stay-at-home order he mandated on Friday, is an opportunity for the public to do their part to protect the people who are on the front lines and the people most vulnerable to the coronavirus. Pritzker is asking for reinforcements encouraging all retired physicians, nurses, and assistants to come back and join the fight against the virus. For those willing to help, licenses are to be expedited and fees waived. He’s even extending the licenses for medical professionals that are expiring, through the end of September.
