SPRINGFIELD – 36 additional deaths from complications related to COVID-19 were reported by the Illinois Department of Public Health on Thursday. The IDPH also announced 869 additional deaths. There have now been 144,882 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic with 6,987 deaths. The IDPH continues to remind residents of the importance of wearing masks and social distancing, especially over the holiday weekend.
