CHICAGO – Gas price averages nationwide, statewide, and locally remain on the rise, as tensions between Russia and Ukraine continue to contribute to rising oil prices, according to the American Automobile Association. Russia is a member of OPEC+, and any sanctions based on their actions toward Ukraine may cause it to withhold crude oil from the global market says the AAA. LaSalle County has experienced the biggest increase in princes at an average of $3.55 per gallon compared to $3.43 cents two weeks ago. Bureau County is second priciest locally at $3.51 cents, and Putnam cheapest, remaining at an average of $3.43. Since last week, the state average increased by 8 cents now at $3.60.
