The Wedron Wildfire girls 12 and under team took the National Championship at the NSA North Central World Series in Owensboro, Kentucky this week. The team members are from Ottawa, Streator, Grand Ridge, Putnam County, Mendota, Ransom, Utica, LaSalle, and Peru.
The Wildfire went 7-0 in the tournament.
During pool play they won:
17-6 vs Wheatland Spikes 17-6
17-3 vs Southfield Ducks 17-3
15-4 vs Kentucky Lightening 15-4
12-2 vs Michigan Ice 12-2
During bracket play they won
6-3 vs Southfield Ducks
12-8 vs Wheatland Spikes
20-6 vs Southfield Ducks
