Ultrarunner uses car during race

MANCHESTER, ENGLAND — Scottish Ultrarunner Joasia Zakrzewski was recently disqualified from her third-place finish in the 2023 GB Ultras Manchester to Liverpool 50-mile race.  It was reported that she traveled one mile in one minute and 40 seconds through the GPX mapping data.  After further investigation, it was found that she had traveled in a vehicle for approximately 2.5 miles.  She stated that she had begun feeling ill and that is why she traveled by vehicle.  It is being looked into by UK Athletics.  She has previously set multiple records, including the Scottish 24-hour record, the British 200k, and the Scottish 100 miles record.
