STREATOR – The Streator Police Department is warning residents that they are not calling people asking for contributions or payment to avoid legal trouble. The department said that some in the area have been receiving calls that appear to be from the department and have spoken with an individual representing themselves as the Chief of Police. The Streator Police Department says that if you receive any call from a law enforcement agency demanding you provide payment over the phone that you hang up the phone.
