

MENDOTA – The Mendota School District 289 school board appointed members to specific roles Thursday night. Superintenent K. Bradley Cox thanked the outgoing board for their service to the community and noted that financially, the districts reserve funds of $9.5 million has remained nearly unchanged. Outgoing Vice President Krysten Kain chose to retire and leave the board, having served the district since 2015.
Board President Theresa Komitas was re-elected President of the Board of Education, with Holli Rapp elected as the new Vice President. Taking on the role of Secretary will be Sarah Landers.
Board member Shannon Beetz stated she is holding off stepping down from the board until a replacement can be found. The district is currently looking for a community member to fill the vacancy left by Kain.
