8 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths in Livingston County


PONTIAC – Eight residents of Livingston County have tested positive for COVID19 (coronavirus disease). Sadly, two more residents have also died due to complications related to COVID-19. The individuals included a male and female in their 80s. Livingston County Health Department (LCHD) officials were notified of the new COVID-19 cases and deaths on February 5, 2021 in accordance with state and local public health protocol. LCHD officials continue to work closely with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH),
and have investigated and notified any individuals who may have had exposure to these individuals who tested positive for COVID-19. As of February 5, 2021, the LCHD has received 66,938 COVID-19 test results. Of that, 3,986 COVID-19 tests have been positive, 62,952 tests were negative, 3,793 of the previously reported cases have been removed from isolation, 121 cases remain active, and, sadly, 72 cases have resulted in death due to complications related to COVID-19.
