OGLESBY – Dr. Kamal Kishore, owner of Illinois Retina & Eye Associates of Peru, Peoria and Galesburg, has established annual healthcare and pre-med scholarships with the Illinois Valley Community College Foundation. The ten, $1,000 Kamal Kishore MD Scholarships will support students in a variety of healthcare careers including pre-med. Beginning this fall, the awards will cover tuition, books and related-expenses. A board certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist, Dr. Kishore is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria where he works with medical students seeking a career in ophthalmology.
“Dr. Kishore is giving back by investing in future doctors and medical professionals,” said IVCC President Jerry Corcoran. “Each year, ten students will benefit from his benevolence.”
