Contamination all cleaned up at Northwest School

LASALLE – The Environmental Protection Agency cleanup at Northwest School in LaSalle is substantially completed. According to Superintendent Brian DeBernardi, the majority of fencing around the once contaminated site is now removed. DeBernardi says the district made a collective decision to leave some fencing up to keep traffic from away from the setting sod. In the springtime, there will be an final evaluation on whether further steps should be taken to reclaim the soil.
