WGLC ONLY DIXON – KSB Hospital in Dixon is pursuing point-of-care testing solutions that would allow them to process a large number of tests daily through their lab. Several major pharmaceutical companies will release FDA approved tests which can provide results in less than ten minutes. Companies are expected to begin shipping these new kits to healthcare facilities, and it is hoped that kits will be available by the middle of April. If everything comes to fruition, the goal would be to reduce the length of time that people are quarantined or in isolation should they test negative. So far in Lee county they have performed 160 COVID-19 tests and 60 test results are pending, with the remaining 100 test results being negative. KSB conducted 14 additional drive-thru screening tests yesterday.
