OGLESBY – Illinois Valley Community College will be offering a class to help those planning on taking the ACT get a better score. The IVCC Continuing Education office will be offering “ACT Test Prep” from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27 and from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 6 on main campus. The class will provide test taking strategies including how to handle time constraints and a review of the ACT scoring system. The English, reading and math portions of the exam will be covered. Students will learn techniques and test taking strategies to help them feel comfortable and confident on test day. The textbook “Accelprep for the ACT Test” is included; students must bring a pen or pencil and notepaper to class. Seating is limited and registration must be completed by Friday, Feb. 19.
