
SPRINGFIELD – Unemployment in North Central Illinois for the month of October is slightly up and LaSalle County remains one of the highest regionally. According to the Illinois Department of Employment Security, LaSalle County made a slight uptick in its unemployment rate at 4.6%, identical to the state’s average. Putnam and Bureau County increased as well, still below 4.5%. In October, the industry sectors with the largest over-the-month gains in employment include trade, transportation, and utilities, leisure and hospitality and manufacturing.
