PRINCETON – A Michigan woman is in custody after a traffic stop for allegedly transporting 25lbs of Methamphetamine on Interstate 80.  The Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics team on Thursday morning say they stopped an SUV for an alleged speeding violation in Bureau County. During the stop the Trident K9 Agent deployed his K9 and the dog reportedly indicated to the odor of narcotics from the inside the vehicle. During a search, agents discovered thirteen vacuum sealed packages containing around twenty five pounds of purported methamphetamine.  The driver, 33-year-old Lakieesha Renee York of Detroit Michigan, was taken to the Bureau County Jail where she awaits her bond hearing. She was charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Deliver, a Class X felony.  Tri-dent claims that the amount of alleged Methamphetamine that was recovered has a street value between $300,000.00 – $1,000,000, dependent upon the amounts sold by the pound or gram.
