Pontiac Correctional Center implements new procedures; new case announced Saturday

PONTIAC- A new COVID-19 infection was announced at the Pontiac Correctional Center Saturday.  Additional protective measures are being implemented in order to identify new cases and ensure the health and safety of staff and inmates, including more frequent testing.   The Livingston County Health Department confirmed the inmate is a man in his 50’s.    They also reported Saturday another infection, a woman in her 30’s.  As of May 30, the health department say they have received 946 COVID-19 test results. Of those, 35 COVID-19 tests have been confirmed positive, 911 tests confirmed negative, 27 of the previously reported confirmed cases have been removed from isolation, six cases remain active, and two have resulted in death due to complications related to COVID-19.
