Resident raises concern of truck traffic near school zone

STREATOR – Residents in Streator are concerned of children’s safety due to truck traffic near Northlawn Junior High. During public comment at Streator’s City Council meeting, a resident of North Wasson Street, who lives near four school bus stops, addressed the high truck traffic in the non marked route.

According to the resident of over 10 years, Wasson and 1st Street could see up to 16 trucks by 10 a.m. Mayor Jimmie Lansford says the city will follow up on the complaint.
