DIXON – The Lee County Unified Executive Leadership Team on Monday said that the facility that has an outbreak of COVID-19 is receiving harsh treatment from the community. They say over the past week, restaurants have refused delivery service to the Jack Mabley Center.
Lee County Health Department Administrator Cathy Ferguson-Allen said, “The outbreak at the Jack Mabley Center displays how contagious this virus really is and demonstrates the impact seen at congregate living facilities all across our country.”
The center for individuals with developmental and sensory disabilities had 49 residents test positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
Ferguson-Allen added that “Measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of delivery services. Deliveries can be left at the facility with no person to person contact.”
