Streator joins other cities in passing ordinances pertaining to a state of emergency

 

STREATOR – Streator Mayor Jimmie Lansford has signed a declaration that would authorize him to declare a state of emergency if need be. On Wednesday night city council passed the ordinance that would allow Lansford to make actions accordingly if he should declare a state of emergency. Fire Chief Gary Bird, who is the city’s appointed emergency management coordinator, says emergency service personnel continues to monitor the situation. The fire department also  received protective wear for first responders from LaSalle County.
