MENDOTA- Teachers gathered outside the three District 289 schools in Mendota Wednesday morning and held up signs on the first day of the strike. A notice sent to parents Wednesday afternoon stated that no classes would be held through Friday. There has not been any publication of a time when district officials and union representatives will meet again.
