Woman Uses Flamethrower to Damage Car

BARRINGTON – A Barrington woman has been charged with arson and with filing a false police report after initially claiming her car was stolen.
According to the Barrington Police Department, 47 year-old Julie Gagne was arrested Wednesday for allegedly setting fire to her vehicle.
In a release by the department, they state that on the evening of November 10th Gagne used a weapon described as a flamethrower to damage a vehicle registered to herself. The weapon, called an X-15, uses CO2 and Propane to shoot flames. Following the fire, she reported the car stolen to the Schaumburg Police Department.
Gagne has been changed with a felony count of arson and with filing a false police report. Her bond was set at $100,000. (PHOTO BARRINGTON POLICE DEPARTMENT)
