Starved Rock Lodge to host event to mark anniversary of Jolliet-Marquette expedition

UTICA – This year marks the 350th Anniversary of the Jolliet/Marquette expedition. The LaSalle County Historical Society is inviting the community on Sunday to a one-man play called A Solid Path Through Water. Amanda Carter, Museum Director for the LaSalle County Historical Society says Father Jacques Marquette and fur trader Louis Joliet made passage through LaSalle County on their voyage all thanks to the Native Americans.
This event takes place on Sunday, March 26th at 1 p.m. at the Starved Rock Lodge. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.  After the play two Trolley tours will be offered to give a tour of local area attractions dealing with the Joliet/Marquette expedition including the site where Marquette and Jolliet first made contact with the Native Americans at the Grand Village of the Kaskaskia.
