Candlelight vigil for Dalton Mesarchik this weekend in Streator


 
STREATOR – A candlelight vigil will be held on Sunday for a boy whose body was found south of Streator 20 years ago. The 20th-anniversary memorial for Dalton Mesarchik will be held at Heritage Park on the corner of Monroe and Main street in Streator on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. 20-years-ago, Mesarchik’s body was found along the Vermillion River south of Streator, but no suspects or further clues have turned up in the years since. A $50,000 reward remains for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the crime. The Illinois State Police, the Streator Police Department, Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, Livingston County Coroner’s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the LaSalle and Livingston County State’s Attorneys are involved in the ongoing investigation.
