Unemployment in Northcentral Illinois spikes further in February


 
SPRINGFIELD – Unemployment rates in North Central Illinois spiked even higher in February according to the Illinois Department of Employment Security. For the month of February, LaSalle County has the third highest unemployment rate in the state at 6.6% compared to 6.2% in January. Bureau County’s unemployment rate also increased to 6% compared to 5.6% in January. Putnam County’s average decreased to 6.2%. The statewide unemployment rate is unchanged at 4.5%.
