Thieves steal only left shoes

shoes

Criminals who fail to learn from history often find themselves repeating their mistakes, as demonstrated by a recent incident in Nebraska. In August, burglars targeted a vintage store, making off with a haul of footwear valued at $20,000. However, their caper had a peculiar twist—all the stolen shoes were exclusively left-footed. This mishap echoes previous shoe store thefts where burglars overlooked that most stores display only one shoe of each pair, keeping the other in storage. Although it remains uncertain how many shoes were taken, the store specialized in “vintage, exclusive” sneakers and rare finds, making them considerably pricier than a stray shoe donated to a thrift store. Surveillance footage captured the theft, yet the police are still searching for the culprits.
