Streator High School Board approves additional dog therapy program

STREATOR – Streator High School is welcoming an additional therapy dog program. Sophie the K9 will be the new support pup for the FUSE program for students with special needs. Tom Edwards, instructor of the program says Sophie will be used to promote attendance and create a calming presence under tense situations. The 3-year-old fur baby underwent training and received a Good Citizens Award with the Starved Rock Kennel Club. Sophie will begin once a week with the FUSE program next semester.
