Sheridan Fire Department

SHERIDAN – A member of Sheridan’s fire cadet program is in custody after multiple house fires. According to Sheridan Police Chief Chuck Bergeron, an investigation was conducted after an alleged arson on January 28th in the 400 block of Pleasant Street and another in the 300 block of Sheridan Ave. on February 18th. Through the investigation, police learned that several juveniles reportedly knew about the fire before it was dispatched to EMS. This led to the arrest of the 17-year-old Sheridan male. On Monday, a youth custody warrant was issued to the juvenile through the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office. According to police, he turned himself in to the LaSalle County Youth Home. Due to the age of the suspect his name has not been released, but he is charged with two counts of arson and one count of residential arson.
